IIST Astronomy & Astrophysics Winter School 2013

The Department of Earth & Space Sciences of Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram is organizing its second Astronomy & Astrophysics Winter School from December 2 - 11, 2013. The objective of this school is to acquaint students on topics in the broad areas of astrophysics. The lectures will be at a fundamental level with introductions to more advanced topics. There will be also hands-on astronomical data analysis sessions.

Who can apply: Students belonging to any of the following categories are eligible to apply for this winter school:

• M.Sc Physics - First or Second Year

• Integrated MS (Physics) - Fourth Year

• B.Tech (Engineering Physics) - Fourth Year

Duration: December 2 - 11, 2013

Location: Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala)

All selected participants will be provided round trip train fare (sleeper class) for the shortest route. Local hospitality including food and accommodation will be taken care of by IIST. There will be a registration fee of Rs. 500 which the selected participants have to pay when reporting for the school.
